About a year ago I began to integrate a
Play Day in my weekly studio practice, a day I only focus
on color and form and try not to
think about data or concept. The Little Ones is a series of sculptures
that were made during my Play Day. On the surface, they
can be read as explorations of color and form. To me, though, they are
short but important journeys in which I have a chance to discover sculpture
on its own terms, without having to carry the weight of data.
