The Observers
Paper, wood
16"x20", extends off wall by 6", 2015

This piece was made while at residence at the Mountain Lake Biological Station in the
Appalachian Mountains in Virginia. Sharing this mountain top with thousands of flora and
fauna, were about 70 biologists from all over the world. This piece is about
them, the curious explorers of the natural world on this not so lonely mountain
top. Wind and bird sounds are translated into directional lines, the top of the
piece pointing West.
